Hello,
So I just got hired by a e-commerce agency to write their emails. Great place and people... and I am a little stressed about how long it's taking me to write these emails. They tend to come in groups of 4 and are quite brief (around 100-200 words each).
I am new to copywriting in general and this is my first time writing e-commerce emails. So far it's been taking me 8 hours to write a 4 email sequence, where the emails are generally unrelated to each other. It took me alot longer with the first 2 sequences I wrote so this is where I'm at after just 4 separate email sequences. Keep in mind that I'm also doing brand/consumer research in this time frame.
Is this crazy long? Do things get shorter over time? Thank you!
Is there a normal writing time emails take when you're new?

Hello Bopdodebop, welcome to the forums.
Don't beat yourself up about it. Yes, 8 hours to write 4 emails is a crazy long time, but you're just starting out and still learning.
And yes, you will get faster.
Once you know your market better you can cut your research time dramatically because you'll already have a good idea what the market responds to. Then you can focus on just a little research to see if there's any new trends going on in the market, and you can pump out a sequence in a couple hours, or less.
Like anything else in life, the more you do it the better you get.
All the best,
Steve
